Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecology has largely rejected dinosaurs, confining them to isolated equatorial zones that mimic their ancient habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, the three largest creatures across land, sea, and air possess DNA that holds the secret to a life-saving drug for humanity.
Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert tasked with leading a team to retrieve the crucial genetic material. Their mission takes a dramatic turn when they encounter a stranded civilian family whose boat was overturned by aggressive aquatic dinosaurs. Together, they find themselves marooned on a forbidden island that once served as a secret research facility for Jurassic Park. Amidst a variety of dinosaur species, they uncover a sinister and shocking secret that has been concealed for decades.
The final trailer showcases several highlights, including a river raft scene inspired by Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, a sequence that was omitted from the 1993 film but is now brought to life in Jurassic World Rebirth. Screenwriter David Koepp, who revisited Crichton's novels for inspiration, incorporated this and other elements from the books into the script.
The trailer also introduces new dinosaur species, including the 'D-Rex,' officially named Distortus Rex. Described by director Gareth Edwards as a blend of a T-Rex and a Star Wars Rancor, the D-Rex is a mutant dinosaur designed with a touch of H.R. Giger's aesthetic. Additionally, viewers get a glimpse of the winged Mutadons, a hybrid of a pterosaur and a Raptor.
