Honkai: Star Rail\'s newest expansion arrives the middle of this month, with a new planet and more

Ah, January, a time for resolutions, for a little bit of post-holiday melancholy and (seemingly) for plenty of new things to play! That's because MiHoYo's hit ARPG Honkai: Star Rail is set to brighten up a dreary month with a brand new expansion set to arrive on January 15th.

To fit in with the dawning of a new year, this next expansion will see a brand-new chapter begin. You'll embark on a journey to the newly-introduced world of Amphoreus, with the Trailblazer mission unfolding in two exciting parts set to span from 3.0 to 3.7, which MiHoYo claim to be the most expansive in Honkai: Star Rail so far.

Moving on from Penacony the Astral Express sets course for a new world to replenish badly-needed Trailblaze Fuel, and it just so happens that Black Swan selects the planet of Amphoreus to land on. Amphoreus is shrouded in mystery, and a chaotic vortex, that makes it virtually impossible to study from the outside. With inhabitants oblivious to the universe and beyond this new planet is set to be a truly intriguing challenge for all explorers.

Fortunately, you won't need to explore on your own as this latest version introduces three new playable characters Herta, Aglaea and the Remembrance Trailblazer. You'll also reunite with several old friends making appearances throughout the expansion while the limited five-star characters Lingsha Feixiao and Jade will return to the location, that's alongside Boothill, Robin and Silver Wolf appearing in the second half!

It's no surprise that MiHoYo is putting their best foot forward with Honkai: Star Rail, as the release of Zenless Zone Zero last year saw a whopping third game join their highly-popular lineup. So it seems that the folks over at the Hoyoverse are intent on making each of their releases stand out this year.
