Madam Herta, a formidable 5-Star Ice Erudition unit in Honkai: Star Rail, is an Emanator of Nous, the Aeon of Erudition.  As member 83 of the Genius Society and founder of the Herta Space Station, her influence is widespread.  The numerous Herta puppets throughout the station, including the playable 4-star version, are modeled after her younger self.

Her Erudition path makes her adept at AoE combat, but she also performs well against fewer targets.  Significant self-buffs and damage multipliers enhance her capabilities, including an 80% team-wide CRIT DMG boost with another Erudition unit and a three-turn personal ATK buff from her Ultimate.  This makes her relatively easy to build, offering several budget-friendly Light Cone and teammate options.

Herta's gameplay centers on accumulating Inspiration stacks for self-enhancement and Interpretation stacks on enemies.  Consuming an Inspiration stack empowers her Skill, while her Talent and Traces amplify damage based on enemy Interpretation stacks. Optimal Herta Relics in Honkai: Star Rail

Herta benefits from ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG.  Since her Enhanced Skill and Ultimate are primary damage sources, enhancing these is crucial. While SPD is helpful, its importance depends on team synergy.  Scholar Lost in Erudition is her best Relic set, boosting CRIT Rate, Skill/Ultimate damage, and providing a further damage boost after her Ultimate.  Hunter of Glacial Forest is a viable alternative, offering Ice DMG and CRIT DMG boosts.  For newer players, any 2-piece combination of CRIT Rate, Ice DMG, or ATK% is sufficient.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm provide the best overall stats, offering ATK and CRIT Rate boosts, synergizing well with an Erudition partner. Rutilant Arena is a strong alternative, boosting CRIT Rate and Skill damage. Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation excels only in Pure Fiction.

Aim for 100% CRIT Rate with a CRIT Rate chest, utilizing support units to compensate if needed.  Herta's SPD requirements depend on teammates and Eidolons; she can function effectively at base SPD.  Her Eidolons further reduce SPD dependency.


Optimal Herta Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

Into the Unreachable Veil (her signature Light Cone) is optimal, providing high base ATK, CRIT Rate, Skill/Ultimate damage boosts, and Skill Point recovery.  Night on the Milky Way is a strong alternative (effective with 5+ enemies), as are An Instant Before A Gaze, Before Dawn, and Yet Hope Is Priceless (stat sticks).  Today Is Another Peaceful Day and Geniuses' Repose are excellent 4-star options.  Eternal Calculus, The Day The Cosmos Fell, and The Seriousness of Breakfast are serviceable starting options.
