The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Hogwarts Legacy features enhanced graphics, quicker load times, and introduces full mouse control support.
As shown in a new comparison trailer, while the original version required loading screens when entering or leaving Hogsmeade, the Switch 2 allows smooth, uninterrupted transitions between areas.
That’s just the beginning. On Nintendo Switch 2, the game also improves frame rates, texture quality, shadow details, and color saturation across Hogwarts and its surroundings — see for yourself in the trailer below:
As for mouse controls? We’re curious too. While Warner Bros. hasn’t shared specifics yet, we suspect this new feature might enhance spell-casting mechanics.
Similar to other Switch 1 titles, existing Hogwarts Legacy owners can upgrade to the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 version for $10.
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of the 1800s. Starting as a fifth-year student, you’ll explore iconic and new locations, encounter magical creatures, brew potions, master spells, upgrade abilities, and personalize your witch or wizard. It launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, the same day as the console.
We loved our time with Hogwarts Legacy, giving it a 9/10 in our IGN Hogwarts Legacy review, where we wrote: “In nearly every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG we’ve always dreamed of playing.”
