Sega's Unexpected Announcement: No Football Manager 2025

Sega and Sports Interactive have delivered surprising news to fans of the Football Manager series: there will be no new installment for the 2025 season. The companies issued an official statement announcing the cancellation and promising full refunds for all pre-orders.

The reason? The game, already subject to two delays, was deemed too far from completion. While developers had promised a significant technological leap, they ultimately fell short of their ambitious goals. This frank admission is refreshing, a stark contrast to some sports game franchises notorious for minimal updates between releases.

However, the news remains disappointing. The developers also confirmed that Football Manager 24 will not receive a 2025 season update. This is a significant setback for many players, especially given past instances of virtual managers securing real-world football club positions based on their in-game success. For the coming year, only the outdated FM24 will be available.

The future of the Football Manager series remains uncertain, pending further announcements from Sega and Sports Interactive.
