Techland made a major splash at Summer Game Fest 2025, unveiling the official release date for Dying Light: The Beast — August 22, 2025. The game will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.

This surprise announcement brings the Dying Light spinoff to players in just a few short months, reuniting them with fan-favorite protagonist Kyle Crane after his absence from the 2022 sequel. Alongside the release date reveal, Techland shared an exciting new gameplay trailer that showcases the brutal combat options available as players fight through hordes of infected using every weapon imaginable.

"You are Kyle Crane. Captured by the Baron and subjected to years of torturous experimentation, you finally break free," reads the official synopsis. "Now, teetering on the edge of humanity, your body contains both human and zombie DNA. Controlling your inner beast and the chaos it brings is the only way to survive — and to get revenge on the man who turned you into a monster."

Dying Light: The Beast serves as a standalone entry within Techland’s expansive post-apocalyptic universe. Players can already pre-order the title, unlocking exclusive in-game content such as the Hero of Harran bundle. This special package includes the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, Follower Crossbow, and more.
