Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2, even though there's no official word yet that the fighting game, inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series, is heading to the new console. A now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which was shared on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, suggests otherwise.
"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet stated before being taken down. This confirms that the game has secured a 12+ rating.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights. It boasts an "incredible number" of playable characters, each with their unique abilities, transformations, and techniques.
In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, stating: "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 went live on April 24, with the price set at $449.99. As expected, they sold out quickly. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, indicating that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to high demand.
