Deltarune's Exclusive Switch 2 Feature Revealed in Secret "SPECIAL ROOM"

Deltarune enthusiasts, get ready for some exciting news! The upcoming Switch 2 version of Deltarune promises exclusive features that will elevate your gaming experience. Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, this release will include chapters 3 and 4, along with some unique additions tailored for the next-gen console.

Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

One of the standout features of the Switch 2 version is a "SPECIAL ROOM" that leverages the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Deltarune developer Toby Fox shared in a Fangamer newsletter, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!" This innovative feature allows for a unique gameplay experience that's exclusive to the Switch 2. For those with non-Switch 2 devices, the room will still be accessible but with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a smooth transition.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In a move that's sure to delight fans, Toby Fox has confirmed that Deltarune will cost $24.99 and include Chapters 1 and 2, along with the new releases of Chapters 3 and 4. While Chapter 1 was released in 2018 and Chapter 2 in 2021, both free, it was previously announced that future chapters (3-5) would be paid content. However, Fox has now announced that upcoming chapters will be added as free updates. This means that players only need to purchase the game once, and future chapters will be provided at no additional cost. Fox expressed his hope that "as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

Music lovers will also be thrilled to know that the game's soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99. The upcoming release of Chapters 3 and 4 will include over 150 songs, with future chapters adding even more tracks for free.
