Sphere Defense: A Tower Defense Classic Reborn on Android

Tomnoki Studio's Sphere Defense is a fresh take on the classic tower defense genre, drawing clear inspiration from David Whatley's geoDefense. The developer, a longtime fan of geoDefense, has recreated the elegantly simple yet challenging gameplay for a new generation of players.

The Story

Earth, or "The Sphere," faces imminent destruction at the hands of alien invaders. Humanity, forced underground, has tirelessly developed new technologies to fight back. After years of setbacks, they've finally amassed sufficient firepower to launch a counteroffensive. You'll lead this crucial counterattack, defending the planet from annihilation.

Gameplay

Sphere Defense faithfully adheres to the core tower defense loop. You strategically deploy various units, each possessing unique strengths, to repel waves of enemies. Successful eliminations yield resources to enhance your arsenal and expand your defenses. Higher difficulty levels demand increasingly sophisticated tactical decisions.

The game offers three difficulty settings: easy, normal, and hard. Each difficulty features 10 stages, with each stage lasting 5 to 15 minutes. See the gameplay in action:

Diverse Units for Strategic Combat

Sphere Defense features seven distinct unit types, offering a wide range of strategic options. These include offensive units such as the Standard Attack Turret (single-target), Area Attack Turret (area-of-effect), and Piercing Attack Turret (for line formations). Supporting units, like the Cooling and Incendiary Turrets, enhance the effectiveness of your offensive units. Finally, specialized units like the Fixed-Point Attack Unit (precise missile strikes) and Linear Attack Unit (satellite laser) provide additional tactical depth.
