The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features set to enhance the gaming experience. A standout feature is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down gameplay when the action gets intense. This option, which lets you reduce the speed to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the original pace, aims to help players who may feel overwhelmed during high-pressure scenarios.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, elaborated on these new accessibility features. He emphasized that Game Speed is particularly beneficial for players facing challenges when combating the game's notorious hordes of Freakers. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this feature ensures that the thrilling combat experience is accessible to a broader audience.
Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a variety of other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty settings, from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be introduced to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and control customization will necessitate a compatible controller.
Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered promises more than just accessibility enhancements. Players can look forward to an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, and more. This remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game centered around a biker protagonist is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
