Gems are crucial in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, providing significant battlefield advantages. This guide details how to craft and utilize these powerful items.
Unlocking Gem Crafting:
To begin crafting Gems, you must first progress to Chapter 1 and join Liu Bei's Volunteer Army. Visit an Inn to receive a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material: Pyroxene.
Acquiring Pyroxene:
Pyroxene is found throughout the overworld as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore diligently during your travels. Additionally, Pyroxene can be obtained as rewards for completing side quests, accumulating Old Coins, and reading letters at Inns.
Crafting Gems:
Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to initiate crafting. The crafting process is randomized; the number of Pyroxene used doesn't influence the Gem type created. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem in the crafting menu indicates that only that specific Gem type can be crafted during that session.
Gem Leveling and Strategic Use:
Repeatedly crafting a specific Gem type will increase its effectiveness. Since you can initially equip only one Gem at a time, strategic selection is vital. Consider the Gem's benefits relative to the battle type: the Wellspring Gem, for instance, excels in large-scale engagements, while the Ascendence Gem proves more valuable in officer duels. While initially modest, these buffs become increasingly impactful over time.
