YouTuber Super Cafe documented his journey on April 8, flying over 800 miles to be the first in line on the west coast for both the store's grand opening and the anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Super Cafe, who recently moved into his new apartment just two months ago, admitted that this camping trip might not be the wisest financial decision but remains undeterred. "Terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares," he stated, showing his commitment to being at the forefront of this historic event. He's not alone in this endeavor; a similar scene is unfolding at the New York Nintendo Store, where another YouTuber is also waiting to be first in line for the Switch 2.
Super Cafe plans to camp out for the next two months and is doing so largely as a solo effort. He's even reached out to potential fellow campers, encouraging them to join him in San Francisco. As for the logistics of his extended stay, such as accommodations, food, and showers, he promises to address these in a future Q&A session.
The tradition of camping out for major Nintendo releases, particularly for new consoles, is nothing new. With both coastal Nintendo stores now boasting their own dedicated campers, it remains to be seen if this will spark a trend of more people joining the lines. These creators are certainly showing their dedication to the Nintendo brand.
