Blizzard finds itself embroiled in yet another controversy surrounding Overwatch 2. The latest issue revolves around the Cyber DJ skin for Lucio, which was initially sold for $19.99 in the game's store. However, just a day later, Blizzard announced that this same skin would be available for free to players who watched a special Overwatch 2 event on Twitch for an hour on February 12.
Many players who had already purchased the Cyber DJ skin before the announcement were understandably upset upon discovering they could have obtained it without spending any money. This situation has led to widespread outrage within the community.

This isn't the first instance where Blizzard has offered cosmetic items for sale only to later distribute them for free during promotional events. Frustrated players are now demanding refunds, citing the unfairness of the situation. The Cyber DJ skin has since been removed from the store, but Blizzard has yet to address the refund requests.
In the midst of this controversy, Overwatch 2 faces stiff competition from Marvel Rivals, which is outperforming it in various aspects. In response, Blizzard has announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event, set for February 12. This event will unveil new maps, heroes, and other exciting content. To generate buzz and provide a sneak peek at upcoming game updates, Blizzard plans to invite popular streamers to their headquarters.
