Ubisoft Unveils Rainbow Six Siege 2 with Redefined Visuals

A recent leak from an insider, "fraxiswinning," suggests Ubisoft will unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 during the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled for February 14-16 at the MGM Music Hall.

This purported sequel, codenamed "Siege X," reportedly utilizes a revamped engine boasting enhanced visuals, including overhauled textures and character models. Furthermore, the source indicates that temporary events from the original game may not be carried over, with Ubisoft seemingly focusing on entirely new event content. The anticipated release window is the second season of the game's tenth year of support, placing it around mid-2025.

This news contradicts previous statements by Rainbow Six Siege's creative director, Alexander Karpazis, who downplayed the need for a full sequel, emphasizing the ongoing development of the current iteration. However, this leak suggests a potential shift in Ubisoft's strategy.

It's crucial to approach such rumors with skepticism. Until official confirmation from Ubisoft, this information remains speculative.

Meanwhile, the Six Invitational 2025, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is rapidly approaching. Twenty teams will compete in Boston for a $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, victors of the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the final qualifying spot.

The twenty-team tournament represents a unique structure. While Ubisoft might retain a similar format to last year—four round-robin groups of five teams, culminating in a double-elimination playoff—alternative formats remain a possibility. The likely playoff seeding will see the top team receive a first-round bye, the fourth-place team entering the lower bracket, and the remaining teams starting in the upper bracket. The bottom-ranked team in each group will be eliminated.
