Participating in crowd-sourced events can significantly contribute to capturing essential data on sea level rise. The Sea Level Rise app empowers individuals to map flooding within their communities, aiding in the documentation of rising sea levels and related flooding impacts.

Although nearly everyone in coastal areas will experience the effects of sea level rise, our initial focus was on Hampton Roads, Virginia. Through annual "Catch the King Tide" events, we've benefited from the mapping efforts of thousands of volunteers. Created by Wetlands Watch, this app helps foster a more informed and connected community, enabling us to proactively address the challenges posed by sea level rise.

Explore user-submitted insights into this global phenomenon and join as a volunteer to gather vital street-level data needed to better comprehend and tackle its challenges! Using the app, you can:

• Engage in crowd-sourcing initiatives to collect localized data required by researchers and civic leaders yet often unavailable.

• Identify and mark nearby trouble spots where high waters disrupt travel during adverse weather conditions.

• Capture and share images documenting occurrences in your area.

• Access dedicated collaboration zones, referred to as regions, where you can organize volunteers and arrange mapping activities.
