Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled an exciting new update for their freshly launched settlement builder game, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update introduces a darker tone to the charming pixel-art adventure, enhancing the game with new mechanics and content.
Even though TownsFolk is newly released, the studio isn't holding back on deepening the gameplay experience. The "Shadows and Fortune" update brings in new buildings and challenges to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging. Players will now have to contend with roaming Barbarians, adding a layer of tension to both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Additionally, eight new structures have been introduced, including the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer, each contributing uniquely to your settlement's development.
The update also breathes life into water tiles with the introduction of the rare Whale, adding a new element to explore. Special Locations like ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks further enhance the game's unpredictability, encouraging players to explore and discover their secrets.
To help players navigate the expanded world of TownsFolk, a new Compendium acts as an in-game encyclopedia, providing valuable information about the game's elements. The Exploration System has been revamped, and players can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes, tailoring their experience to their skill level.
