Ubisoft had previously confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. However, we now know the space adventure will not be available at the console's June 5 launch, but will instead arrive a few months later on September 4.
If you haven't played it on PS5, Xbox, or PC, Star Wars Outlaws is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows Kay Vess, a petty criminal who finds herself with a cartel's death mark on her head. Our reviewer scored it a 7, calling it "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, though let down by simplistic stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
Beyond reconfirming the Nintendo Switch 2 release and its date, Ubisoft didn't share many specifics. Still, it allows us to update our Switch 2 Games List. With American and Canadian gamers stuck in pre-order uncertainty due to new tariffs assessed by the current administration, any news on upcoming Switch 2 games is a welcome distraction.
The announcement was made during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan. Ubisoft also previewed the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled "A Pirate’s Fortune." This add-on sees Kay Vess ally with the pirate Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune launches on May 15.
