What if Godzilla unleashed his fury on the Marvel Universe? That's the electrifying question Marvel is tackling in a new series of one-shot crossover specials. IGN exclusively reveals the third installment: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.

Following March's Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and April's Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 throws us back to a classic era. This story unfolds after 1984's Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, shortly after Peter Parker's return from Battleworld and his initial struggles with the alien symbiote. He'll need every ounce of his newfound power when Godzilla arrives to wreak havoc on his city.
Joe Kelly, recently announced as the writer for the relaunched The Amazing Spider-Man, pens this explosive encounter. Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men) provides the art, with cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about a '80s-set Godzilla x Spidey crossover, I practically jumped across the table to claim it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This book is pure, unadulterated fun, pitting two iconic characters against each other in the chaotic spirit of the era I was actively collecting Spider-Man comics. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity of the concept and the vibe I was aiming for, while simultaneously giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his perfectly normal, nothing-weird-here black suit!) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter delivered with an earth-shattering roar!"
This isn't the first time Western superheroes have faced Godzilla. DC Comics recently published Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, with a sequel in the works. However, unlike that series, which features the MonsterVerse versions, Marvel's issues showcase the classic Toho Godzilla.
This announcement follows the reveal of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, an anthology comic donating proceeds to wildfire relief.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 stomps onto the scene April 30, 2025.
