Saros, a Returnal Spiritual Successor, is Coming 2026

Housemarque unveiled Saros during February 2025's State of Play presentation. This new title, slated for release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro sometime in 2026, builds upon the thrilling gameplay established in their previous hit, Returnal. The game will center around Arjun Devraj, portrayed by actor Rahul Kohli.

Saros, a Returnal Spiritual Successor, is Coming 2026

According to Housemarque's creative director, Gregory Louden, Saros was conceived to allow Returnal to stand alone as a distinct experience. Saros establishes a new IP, iterating on Returnal's narrative and mechanics. While Returnal offered a constantly shifting roguelike experience across various biomes, Saros will introduce permanent and evolving loadouts of weapons and suits, embodying the game's core concept: "Come Back Stronger." This system aims to empower players to overcome challenges through strategic progression.
