Schedule I Controversy Leads to Steam Review Bombing

The indie drug trade simulator Schedule I faces copyright allegations from Movie Games S.A., developers of The Drug Dealer Simulator series. According to a Polish Press Agency report dated April 3, Movie Games S.A. completed a legal review suggesting Schedule I may have infringed upon their intellectual property, including plot elements, gameplay mechanics, and interface design.

While no official legal action has been taken yet, gaming communities have quickly taken sides - with Schedule I apparently gaining more public support. Both The Drug Dealer Simulator and its sequel suddenly received waves of negative Steam reviews, resulting in "Overwhelmingly Negative" and "Mostly Negative" recent ratings respectively.

Drug Dealer Simulator Series Faces Player Backlash

Many critical reviews accuse Movie Games S.A. of bullying indie developers and practicing double standards, noting similar games existed previously without facing legal challenges. This fan backlash emerges despite the series previously earning praise as top criminal management simulations from critics and players.

Schedule I offers a cooperative crime simulation experience where players evolve from street-level dealers to criminal masterminds. Since its March 25 Early Access launch on PC, the game earned "Overwhelmingly Positive" Steam reviews and currently ranks as Steam's #2 top-selling title - outperforming anticipated games like inZOI, Monster Hunter Wilds, and indie competitor R.E.P.O. According to SteamDB data, Schedule I achieved an impressive peak of 459,075 concurrent players.

Game8's review praised Schedule I's addictive gameplay loop, describing it as essentially a "Breaking Bad simulator." For our full early access impressions, check out our detailed coverage.
