What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.

Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff (with a ribbon!), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat), all with a chance to be Shiny. Event bonuses include a boosted 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks adding extra sparkle to your gameplay.

Tier One raids feature a Pikachu wearing a snowflake beanie, while Tier Three raids offer Raticate and Wobbuffet, both in festive party hats. Shiny encounters are boosted for these Pokémon as well. Keep an eye out for themed Pokémon encounters in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
