Voting for the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Award 2025 has officially concluded, and the ballots are being tallied. Who will win the grand prize? You'll have to wait until the Mobile Games Awards ceremony in Cologne on August 19th. If you'd like to attend, a limited number of tickets are still available, so be sure to secure yours soon. As you can see, it's an impressive lineup. The mobile gaming industry has enjoyed a remarkable run in recent years, particularly over the past twelve months—evidenced by the absence of some major titles. Games like Dredge and Jump King, just to name a couple, didn't make the final list. Situations like this make me grateful I'm not responsible for choosing the winner; the selection is genuinely overwhelming.
Tough competition
To highlight a few standout contenders: Balatro made a huge splash at launch with its brilliantly simple concept and a Joker system that allows for near-endless gameplay variety. Meanwhile, Bloons Card Storm continued the beloved series' legacy, with Ninja Kiwi once again demonstrating that tower defense remains a vibrant and engaging genre. We've also seen several outstanding ports, including Lara Croft: Guardian of Light, Gordian Quest, and Sunset Hills.
Whoever emerges victorious on August 19th will have triumphed over some incredibly strong competition. The winner will have been decided by you, the voters, so a sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to participate.
