Nvidia RTX 5090 Specs Leak: Rumor Confirmed?

Author : Patrick Update:Mar 13,2025

Summary

  • The RTX 5090 will boast a massive 32GB of GDDR7 video memory—double that of the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti.
  • This power demands a significant 575W power draw.
  • Nvidia's entire RTX 50 lineup, including the star RTX 5090, will debut at CES on January 6th.

Leaked details suggest the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 will pack a powerful punch: up to 32GB of GDDR7 video memory and a substantial 575-watt power draw. However, official confirmation awaits Nvidia's keynote presentation at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

Codenamed Blackwell, the RTX 50 series represents Nvidia's next-generation leap in graphics card technology, arriving over two years after the RTX 40 series launch. Leveraging proprietary Tensor Cores for AI-based tasks, the RTX 50 series will feature Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) upscaling, ray tracing capabilities, and PCIe 5.0 support on compatible motherboards. This new lineup succeeds the RTX 40 series, some models of which (like the RTX 4090D and RTX 4070) have been discontinued by Nvidia in anticipation of the Blackwell launch. The RTX 50 series will directly compete with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 cards and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

While rumors should be treated cautiously, some GeForce RTX 5090 details emerged prior to CES. VideoCardz initially reported that Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner, showcased its RTX 5090 variant. The Inno3D iChill X3 RTX 5090, a three-fan card occupying over three expansion slots, revealed, via its packaging, that the flagship Blackwell GPU boasts 32GB of GDDR7 video memory—double the expected memory of the RTX 5070 Ti. Coupled with this impressive memory capacity is a 575W power draw, a notable increase compared to the RTX 4090's 450W.

The Nvidia RTX 5090: High Memory, High Power

  • According to Nvidia partner Inno3D, the RTX 5090 will feature 32GB of GDDR7 video memory.
  • This impressive 32GB capacity is double the anticipated memory of the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti.
  • The RTX 5090 demands a substantial 575W power draw, necessitating a high-capacity power supply.
  • The official unveiling of the RTX 50 lineup is set for Nvidia's CES presentation on January 6th.

The RTX 50 series GPUs will utilize a proprietary 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be readily available from Nvidia and its partners. While the RTX 5090's specifications are undeniably impressive, a premium price is expected. The anticipated MSRP could start at $1,999 or higher. Nvidia remains tight-lipped on the exact pricing for the Blackwell generation.

Other RTX 50 series GPUs, including the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti, will be revealed alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES keynote on Monday, January 6th, at 9:30 PM Eastern. The arrival of this new generation will undoubtedly be a significant event, and its reception by consumers remains to be seen.
