Monster Hunter Wilds: Seasons and Weather Dynamics Unveiled

Author : Henry Update:Apr 16,2025

The dynamic world of *Monster Hunter Wilds* in the Forbidden Lands is greatly influenced by its seasons and weather, which not only alter the game's visuals but also significantly affect gameplay mechanics. Here’s a comprehensive guide to understanding how seasons and weather play a crucial role in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons, Explained

Monster Hunter Wilds Season Visuals

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the Forbidden Lands experience two distinct types of seasons: Fallow and Plenty. The game begins in the Fallow season, characterized by a harsh environment and intense weather events. During Fallow, resources are scarce, pushing monsters into a more aggressive state. You'll notice an increase in monster confrontations, as they battle each other more frequently than in the Plenty season.

On the other hand, the Plenty season offers a stark contrast with its warmer and more pleasant atmosphere. This season is marked by an abundance of flora and vibrant environmental changes. Small monsters are less hostile and tend to avoid traveling in packs, making the environment less threatening. The Plenty season lives up to its name with an increased availability of Endemic Life and various plants, which is a cause for celebration among both the villagers and players of *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Between these seasons, you'll encounter brief but intense weather events known as Inclemency. These periods heighten the weather intensity and set the stage for epic battles against Apex Predators. For instance, during the Pinnacle of the Pack Assignment, hunters face the Alpha Doshaguma amidst the Sandtide, a dramatic lightning-filled sandstorm. These unique weather events add an extra layer of challenge and excitement when confronting Apex Predators throughout the game.

How To Check the Seasons and Weather in Monster Hunter Wilds

Keeping track of the seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is crucial for strategic gameplay. The game's HUD provides icons in the bottom left corner that indicate the current time of day and season. For a more detailed view, you can access the map and press the prompted button to view the Environment Overview, which gives you comprehensive information on the current weather and season.

Additionally, Optional Quests in *Monster Hunter Wilds* come with their own designated time of day and season. When engaging in these quests, you'll be temporarily transported to the specified environment, regardless of the current season in the main game world.

How To Change the Season and Weather in Monster Hunter Wilds

Given that the flora and fauna in *Monster Hunter Wilds* are heavily influenced by the seasons, players might find it beneficial to switch between Fallow and Plenty based on their hunting needs. Fortunately, *Monster Hunter Wilds* allows players to change the season and weather.

To alter the season and weather, set up your tent and choose to rest. Navigate to the BBQ Menu, then select the Rest option. Here, you can adjust the Environment and Time settings to your preference, determining the conditions your Hunter will wake up to.

However, resting to change the season and weather comes with a cost of 300 Guild Points and is only available to High Rank Hunters. It's important to note that you cannot rest during an active quest, so plan your rest periods accordingly.

With this guide, you're now equipped to navigate the changing seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, enhancing your gameplay experience.

*Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
