Metaphor enthusiasts have a delightful surprise awaiting them as the inaugural chapter of the Metaphor: ReFantazio manga is now available for free on the MANGA Plus website. This exciting project is a collaboration between Atlus and the renowned manga publisher Shueisha, with the talented Japanese manga artist Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony) at the helm of the illustrations.

While the manga shares its roots with the video game, it boldly takes creative liberties, reshaping the narrative's opening. Notable alterations in the first chapter include the exclusion of a specific introductory area and the introduction of new events not present in the game, as well as reworking others, such as the protagonist's initial encounters with his allies. The manga also officially names the protagonist Will, aligning with the game's default name.

The story follows protagonist Will and his fairy companion Gallica as they embark on a quest to save the prince of the United Kingdom of Euchronia from a cursed fate.

Amidst their journey, the kingdom faces turmoil following the assassination of its king, plunging Euchronia into chaos without a leader. In his final act, the late king entrusts the kingdom's future to a leader chosen by the people, propelling Will into a saga far grander than he could have imagined.

Upon its launch, Metaphor: ReFantazio shattered sales records, selling over one million copies on its first day, surpassing even the phenomenal sales of Persona 3: Reload from early 2024.
