*League of Legends* has introduced an exciting new minigame within its client, available until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay of the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends* quite similar.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
To dive into Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button to access the game type menu and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch the story introduction for this mode, followed by your first round of the card game.

On your screen, your hand of cards is displayed along the bottom row. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percent crit chance. Above these, there's your Sigil box, which can hold up to six active Sigils at once, though you'll start with none. Remember, your health won't be restored after each battle; instead, you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to recover a percentage of your health when possible.
The enemy is represented by the card at the top of the screen, with its health and damage displayed in the bottom right and left corners of the card, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll see an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the left edge of the screen, there's a book that lists all the hands you can play as attacks, along with their base damage for a standard round.
How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, which are referred to differently in Demon’s Hand but follow the same principles. The ultimate hand to aim for is The Demon’s Hand, which is a royal flush. Here’s a comprehensive list of the hands you can play, along with their poker terminology and base damage:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to the base damage, the numeric value of each card is added to the total damage. If an enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out. You can still play these cards, but their numeric value won't contribute to the damage.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils are crucial for enhancing your gameplay. They are available for purchase during store phases, marked by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies and use them to buy Sigils. Each Sigil offers unique abilities, which you can view by hovering over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils amplify the damage of specific hands, such as boosting the power of Dyads, while others can provide additional turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you take.
That sums up how to play the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, be sure to check out the upcoming April Fools skins for some fun additions to Summoner’s Rift.
