Warhorse Studios has unveiled a major free update for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* with version 1.2, bringing two exciting features to the forefront: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.
The Steam Workshop integration revolutionizes modding by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for third-party platforms. However, this feature hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest, featuring mods such as:
- Free Saving: Replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item, granting unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, granting access to restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a visually striking zebra.
While the current mod offerings are limited, the modding community is poised to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, creators are expected to share their work on both platforms. Although Steam Workshop may not match Nexus Mods in scale, it’s likely that popular mods will soon be available there.

Beyond modding, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard, with each visit temporarily boosting the protagonist's Charisma stat.
Update 1.2 encompasses far more than these additions. The official website lists a comprehensive changelog detailing over a thousand fixes and improvements across various game elements. These include balancing tweaks, smoother animations, and more realistic NPC behaviors. The crime system, for example, has been refined for enhanced accuracy.
Other significant updates include:
- Revised daily NPC schedules for more realistic routines.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
- Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to discuss these changes in detail during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to the game's ongoing support, with three paid DLC expansions slated for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay refinements, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* continues to enhance its immersive medieval world, offering players an ever-evolving experience.
