MiHoYo has teased a brand-new Honkai game that appears to offer a Pokémon-like experience. Read on to learn more about the trailer's content and whether this could be the rumored Honkai Nexus Anima.
Brand-New Honkai Game Officially Teased
A Potential Pokémon-Style Adventure

MiHoYo has announced their next project, featuring well-known characters from the Honkai universe. During the Honkai Star Rail concert livestream on May 4th, a 20-second teaser showcased Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail, both commanding creatures in battle.
The trailer suggests gameplay could involve Pokémon-style battles, auto-chess strategy, or monster-collecting mechanics. This theme aligns with miHoYo's history, as both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail have introduced beloved creatures, potentially inspiring a dedicated title.
This is supported by in-game events. Genshin Impact features a monster-capturing system for the Serenitea Pot housing, and past events like "Fabulous Fungus Frenzy" involved capturing Fungi for tournaments.

Similarly, Honkai Star Rail's "Aetherium Wars" event used turn-based combat with monster partners, echoing Pokémon's core concept.
The upcoming game seems to unite characters from across the series. The teaser concludes with silhouettes of familiar figures, possibly including Star Rail's Aventurine.
Described as a "brand-new Honkai game," it has sparked hope for Genshin Impact crossovers. While details are scarce, the trailer confirms Honkai Impact 3rd and Star Rail characters will be featured.
Is This Honkai Nexus Anima?

Many speculate this is the rumored Honkai Nexus Anima, a title miHoYo trademarked recently. The trademark filing itself revealed little, but its timing alongside the teaser fuels fan theories.
Past miHoYo job listings may also be connected. As reported in September 2024, HoYoverse posted roles for a chibi-style life simulation with "Anthropomorphic Animals" and a Honkai IP project involving "fantasy spirit companions."

Given miHoYo's confirmation of a new Honkai game, fans logically link the teaser to Honkai Nexus Anima. However, this remains unconfirmed and purely speculative.
Despite the exciting preview, more questions than answers remain about the game's true nature. Regardless, miHoYo's track record ensures players have a fresh and innovative experience to anticipate.
