Warhorse Studios is putting the finishing touches on a brutally challenging hardcore mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Recently, they announced on Discord that a select group of 100 volunteer testers are putting the mode through its paces. Recruitment is now closed, signaling the final stages of development are underway.
While specifics remain under wraps for now, expect a difficulty level reminiscent of the first game's notoriously tough hardcore mode. Recall the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's hardcore mode? It severely limited saves, cranked up enemy damage, made navigation a real headache, slashed gold rewards, and even introduced negative perks. Deliverance 2's hardcore mode will likely build upon this foundation, promising an even more unforgiving experience.
Testers are sworn to secrecy, bound by confidentiality agreements preventing the sharing of screenshots or videos. However, this testing phase strongly suggests an official announcement and release of information is imminent. This hardcore mode will arrive as a free update, ensuring all players can experience the heightened challenge.
