This season boasts a Battle Pass brimming with Japanese mythology-inspired skins, powerful new weapons, and items—but the real highlight? Oni Masks. These unique items, exclusive to Fortnite Hunters, grant players mystical abilities, perfect for offense or defense. The Fire Oni Mask and Void Oni Mask are designed to give you a serious competitive edge in your quest for a Victory Royale.

Updated January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: While finding Oni Masks often involves a bit of luck, there are now two guaranteed ways to get them. This guide has been updated to include purchasing Oni Masks from Daigo and a new reliable location for guaranteed free masks.

All Oni Masks & How To Use Them

Void Oni Mask

The Void Oni Mask is a top choice for its incredible mobility. Throw a Void Tear (using the Shoot Button), then aim (using the Aim Button) to teleport instantly to its location. The Epic variant offers 15 uses with a 5-second cooldown; the Mythic version boasts 50 uses.

Fire Oni Mask

The Fire Oni Mask is all about dealing damage. Press the Fire Button to unleash a guided flame projectile that inflicts 100 damage. It can even hit multiple clustered enemies! The Epic version has 8 uses and an 8-second cooldown, while the Mythic version packs 16 uses.

How To Get Oni Masks in Fortnite

Searching Elemental Chests

Your best bet for Oni Masks is looting Elemental Chests. These chests guarantee an elemental item, including Oni Masks and Boons. Both Void and Fire Oni Masks can be found this way, but it's still a bit of a lucky draw. Named POIs offer the highest chance of finding one.

Defeating Demon Warriors

Take down Demon Warriors to potentially snag an Oni Mask. These warriors are marked on the map with an Oni Mask icon. While not a guaranteed drop, they can drop either a Void or Fire Oni Mask (depending on which they wield), along with Typhoon Blades and possibly a Boon.

Searching Chests

Beyond bosses and Elemental Chests, regular chests offer a (small) chance of Epic rarity Void and Fire Oni Masks. This method relies heavily on luck.

Purchase From Daigo

Unlike the previous methods, you can *guarantee* both masks in two ways. First, purchase them from Daigo at Masked Meadows using Gold Bars. You’ll need to complete all stages of his Mask Expertise Quests to unlock this option.

Loot From Daigon's Hidden Workshop

Skip the quests? Head to Daigo's hidden workshop (beneath the building on the north side of Masked Meadows). A special machine holds both masks—loot it like a regular chest for a guaranteed reward!

Defeating Bosses (Mythic Oni Masks Only)

For Mythic Oni Masks, you'll need to battle bosses. Night Rose (Demon's Dojo) drops the Mythic Void Oni Mask, while Shogun X (Shogun's Arena) yields the Mythic Fire Oni Mask. They function identically to their Epic counterparts, but with more uses.
