The highly anticipated Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry has finally landed a release date, set to premiere on the streaming platform on April 3. The new animated series, helmed by Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar and brought to life by the acclaimed Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra, X-Men '97), teased the announcement with a bold new teaser posted on X.
Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic track, the trailer perfectly captures the series' edgy tone and sets the stage for what fans can expect. Appropriately titled, the announcement tweet reads:

Originally announced in 2018, the series will kick off with an eight-episode first season. Studio Mir, renowned for its exceptional animation work, is spearheading the project. While plot specifics remain under wraps, early hints suggest the storyline will focus on Dante during the events of the first three Devil May Cry games rather than the more recent Devil May Cry 5. Familiar voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch, who lends his talents to Nero in the games, will reprise his role as Dante.
The last entry in the mainline series, Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019, marked a triumphant return for the franchise following the mixed reception of DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013. Praised for its fast-paced combat and engaging narrative, Devil May Cry 5 remains a standout title in the action genre, drawing comparisons to other classic franchises like Ninja Gaiden. With its April debut, the anime promises to deliver the same high-octane energy and stylish flair that fans have come to love about the series. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches!
