Treyarch is gearing up to celebrate 115 Day with a thrilling mystery box of announcements for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies*, including the exciting reveal of a new map named The Tomb. This January 15 event is a special holiday for *Call of Duty* fans, featuring a comprehensive blog breakdown of all the zombie-themed surprises in store. The highlight of today's announcements is The Tomb, a sandy new Zombies map set to debut with the launch of Season 2 on January 28. This means fans will have another thrilling addition to the Zombies universe just under two weeks after Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

According to a story summary from Treyarch, "After surviving the horrific events at Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft’s final words to a nearby excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact." The Tomb is built on the remains of ancient burial grounds with suspected origins dating back to 2500 B.C.E., which remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s. What lies beneath this location may be deeper than anyone ever imagined.
The team describes The Tomb as a mysterious area connected to a British archeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though they've shared little about its ties to the larger Zombies narrative. In terms of gameplay, The Tomb is expected to offer an experience similar to Liberty Falls, the bright, small-town map that launched with *Black Ops 6* in October. This means players can expect tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability and numerous Easter eggs to discover.
Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by the past and the return of an iconic SMG, though details remain under wraps. Season 2 promises a solid list of quality-of-life improvements, including new features the community has been eager for since launch. Players will be able to track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode will also receive a co-op pause option, allowing the party leader to pause a match mid-run. HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated, and players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if they get disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, *Black Ops 6* players can enjoy double the GobbleGum earn rate, along with double player, weapon, and battle pass XP from now until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch also shared some impressive stats related to the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have spent over 480 million hours in *Black Ops 6 Zombies*. "Our goal from the start for Directed Mode was simple: grow the Zombies community by guiding new players through the Main Quests with some guardrails in place, so they can experience the storyline and hopefully become lifelong Zombies fans," the team explained. Since Directed Mode's launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, rising from 3.38% on November 14 to 8.23% today.
Fans will be eager to hear the voices of the Zombies characters when The Tomb goes live, especially after Activision admitted last month that some beloved Zombies characters were recast amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
