Avowed offers no multiplayer functionality whatsoever, neither co-op nor player-versus-player (PvP). While you'll have companions to aid you, these are non-player characters (NPCs), similar to The Outer Worlds. All enemies, regardless of strength, are AI-controlled. There's no invasion mechanic like in Sniper Elite, allowing other players to disrupt your game. The experience is entirely solo.

What Happened to *Avowed*'s Planned Multiplayer?

If you recall Avowed being advertised with co-op, your memory isn't faulty. Obsidian initially planned to include it. However, during development, the decision was made to cut multiplayer, citing a desire to focus on the core single-player experience.
