After you finish the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the game's vast open world remains at your fingertips. You can continue to explore Feudal Japan, engaging in all the side content you might have missed or simply wish to enjoy more thoroughly. The game does not restrict access to these activities post-credits, ensuring you can fully immerse yourself in the rich environment.

Moreover, post-launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will introduce new weekly challenges through the Animus, offering fresh objectives and rewards even after achieving 100% completion.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained

Completing the main quest doesn't necessarily mean the end of the story. In my playthrough, the credits rolled after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, to unlock the epilogue and the true ending, you must finish the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Once done, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko. This will unlock the complete ending and associated achievements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Additionally, towards the end of the game, players can acquire exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These sets not only enhance each protagonist's unique playstyle with special perks but also appeal to fans with their nostalgic designs.

Even after the credits, you can continue to level up your characters until reaching the game's maximum level cap.

What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

While the main story concludes at launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows promises more content in the future. The Animus will deliver new challenges, and the in-game store will likely see updates with new items. Furthermore, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release in 2025, adding over 10 hours of content and taking players to the new location of the Island of Awaji.
