Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Author : Layla Update:May 01,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, for just $2,399.99, including shipping. This price point represents one of the best deals currently available for an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt system, especially considering the price hikes other brands have implemented since the RTX 50 series launch in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt option with an RTX 5080 GPU is priced over $4,000. Meanwhile, finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU for a DIY build could cost you as much as this entire system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. The system is cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is part of the new Blackwell series of graphics cards, which have been extremely hard to find since their release. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn’t make a lot of sense – it just doesn’t have much of a performance lead over the RTX 4080, though the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do make things look better in games that support it. However, for gamers with an older graphics card who want a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 absolutely provides – doubly so if you’re comfortable with Nvidia’s AI goodies."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a similar design to the 2024 R16 system but features minor aesthetic and cooling redesigns along with updated components. The I/O panel is now positioned at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window spans the entire side panel. Air intakes are located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a cleaner interior. The internal components have been refreshed with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial batch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within an hour of preorders opening. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were the first to launch, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Similarly, prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with these new GPUs are either sold out, have increased in price, or are facing extended delivery delays.
