MauMau, a beloved card game in Germany, is a thrilling variant of the classic Crazy Eights. Played with a standard 32-card deck, each player starts with 5 or 6 cards, setting the stage for an exciting race to be the first to discard all their cards and claim victory. The gameplay is straightforward yet strategic: players take turns matching either the suit or the value of the card that was last played. However, the game is spiced up with special cards that add a twist to the strategy. For instance, playing a seven compels the next player to draw two cards, while an eight forces them to skip their turn entirely. The jack, on the other hand, is a versatile card that can be played on any other card, allowing the player to choose the next suit in play. This mix of strategy and luck makes MauMau a favorite among card game enthusiasts in Germany.
