AboardgameknownasThaichess.Theboardhasthesamedimensionsasinclassicalchess:8×8squares.Theinitialarrangementgenerallycoincideswiththearrangementinclassicalchess,buthastwodifferences:thewhitequeenislocatedonthee1square,thewhitekingisonthed1square(thatis,eachkingistotheleftofhisqueen,whenviewedfromtheplayer’sside);thepawnsarelocatedonthethirdrankfromtheplayer(thatis,whiteonthethird,andblackonthesixth).Theusualmovesoftheking,rookandpawnarethesameaschessones:thekingmovesonesquarehorizontally,verticallyordiagonally,therookmovesanynumberoffreesquaresverticallyorhorizontally,thepawnmovesonesquareforwardandattacksonesquarediagonallyforward.Thegamecanbeplayedwithartificialintelligence,togetherwithanotherpersononthesamedevice,orwithanopponentonlineinmultiplayermode.Piecemoves:ThekingmoveslikeinEuropeanchess.Thereisnopossibilityofcastling(movingthekingtowardstherook).Queen-movesonlyonepointdiagonally.Rook-canmoveanynumberofsquareshorizontallyorvertically,providedthattherearenopiecesinitspath.Bishop-movesonesquarediagonallyinanydirectionoronesquareforwardvertically.Horse-movestwocellsverticallyandthenonecellhorizontally,orviceversa,twocellshorizontallyandonecellvertically(thesameasintheEuropeananalogue).Apawnmovesonestepforwardverticallyandcutsonestepforwarddiagonally,asinEuropeanchess.Apawncanonlytransformintoananalogueofaqueen,reachingthesixthrank.Victoryconditions:Asinclassicalchess,thegoalofthegameistocheckmatetheopponent'sking.Patbringsadraw.

Pretty fun once you get the hang of it! The rules are clearly explained, though the AI can be a bit tough for a beginner like me 😅. Makes for a nice change from regular chess.
