Apex Legends Announces First Offline Tournament in Asia

Apex ALGS Year 4 Championships to be Held in Sapporo, Japan from Jan.29 to Feb. 2, 2025

The Apex Legends Global Series Year 4 Championships are set to take place in the vibrant city of Sapporo, Japan. This prestigious event will feature 40 teams of elite players competing for the coveted title of Apex Legends' global esports champion. Mark your calendars for January 29 to February 2, 2025, as the action unfolds at the iconic Daiwa House PREMIST DOME.

This marks a historic moment for the ALGS, as it will be the first time an offline tournament is held in Asia, following previous events in the US, UK, Sweden, and Germany. EA highlighted the significance of this event in their announcement, stating, "This year will be extra special as we are having our first LAN event in APAC."

John Nelson, EA's Senior Director of Esports, expressed his enthusiasm: "ALGS has a very large community in Japan, and we have seen many comments calling for an offline event in Japan. That's why we couldn't be more pleased to celebrate this milestone with an offline tournament held at the iconic Daiwa House Premist Dome."

Apex Legends First ALGS in Asia Goes to Japan

Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto shared his excitement about hosting the event: "We are extremely honored that the Daiwa House Premist Dome has been selected as the venue for this global e-sports tournament. The entire city of Sapporo will be supporting your tournament and we would like to wholeheartedly welcome all the athletes, officials, and fans."

As the ALGS Year 4 Championships approach, fans can look forward to the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), scheduled from September 13 to 15, 2024. This crucial event offers teams a final shot at qualifying for the championships.
