BBC Weather App and Your Privacy:

The BBC Weather app provides weather information based on your current location. Upon first installing the app, you'll be prompted to enable this feature, which you can toggle on or off at any time through Settings > Apps > BBC Weather > Permissions > Locations.

If you opt to enable location services, the app uses your device's location to fetch the nearest available weather data. The BBC does not store nor share your precise location, adhering to the BBC's Privacy Policy: https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/about/57854010.

For the BBC Weather widget, enabling location access when the app is not in use ensures the widget displays the most current forecast for your location.
