ArtClash - Paint Draw & Sketch

Paint, draw, and share your creations with others! ArtClash is currently in early access, with more features on the way.

We're not Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter. We are ArtClash.

ArtClash is designed to inspire daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning practice.

This is a work in progress, with the first game complete, and more to come. You can freehand draw, choose a topic or series of topics, apply optional constraints (time limit, color palette, canvas size), create your artwork, and earn points when others correctly guess your drawing!

This is a solo project, created for my wife and me to practice daily, and to encourage others to do the same.

Current Features:

• Paint, sketch, and blend tools.
• Import images for reference or painting over.
• Participate in topic-based challenges with constraints for extra points.
• Six difficulty levels for topics, ranging from single words to phrases (nouns, verbs, places, time periods).
• Three constraint options: time limit, color palette, or canvas size.
• Free drawing and sharing capabilities.
• NSFW flag for content filtering.

Current Early Access Issues/Bugs:

• UI: The current Unity UI is undergoing a significant overhaul. A transition to XAML is planned for improved responsiveness and aesthetics.
• Performance: On lower-end devices, canvases should be kept under 1024x1024 pixels. While the brush engine is GPU-accelerated, large canvases with small brushes can cause significant slowdown. Performance optimization across different engines is underway.

Upcoming Features:

• Additional games (starting with a drawing-based "telephone" game).
• Enhanced social features (customizable avatars, comments, friend lists, following functionality).
• Improved UI and faster brush engine (addressing the issues listed above).
• Marquee selection and transform tools.
• Expanded brush library (custom brush textures are supported; more pre-sets and user-created brushes will be added).
• Advanced layer system (including locking transparent pixels and masking).
• Developer communication system (feedback, bug reporting, feature voting).
• Moderator system for content moderation.
• User-submitted topics and constraints (after moderation).
• Future plans include full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping.

Due to current performance limitations with large textures and the absence of complete editing features, ArtClash is not intended to be a full image editing suite at this time. The focus is on social competition and artistic encouragement.
